About The Font

Bookman Old Style Font is a serif typeface font. It was designed by Ong Chong Wah. But the origin of Bookman Old Style is called Oldstyle Antique and was designed by A. C. Phemister circa 1858 for the Miller and Richard foundry in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was customized by many American foundries according to their needs. That’s why it’s called Bookman.

It has four basic styles: Bookman Old Style, Bookman Old Style Bold, Bookman Old Style Bold Italic, and Bookman Old Style Italic. Bookman Old Style is based on earlier Lanston Monotype and ATF models. The italic styles have been following the old-style antique italics of Miller and Richard since the beginning.
