So, what font is The Evangelion Font?

Based on the creator’s interview, the official font that is used in the show is Matisse EB by Fontworks. However, several fonts are used in the series.

We found some differences between the official font and the main title screen, however. So, our team did some research and discovered three other fonts that are very similar to or very close to the serif-style Neon Genesis Evangelion font. We are showing you the following list, with examples:

Reserve Condensed Bold

We noticed that the intro screen of Evangelion looks a lot like The Reserve Condensed Bold. It matches all the characters. If you examine the font and the intro screen lettering side by side, then you can check the similarity. Please check the image below and make your decision.

Robusta Bold

Another similar font is Robusta Bold, but the weight differs. It also matches the intro lettering. Check out the difference below.

Times New Roman Condensed Bold
