The term ‘Netflix Font’ refers to Netflix Sans, a proprietary, custom-designed commercial typeface used for Netflix’s branding, interface, and marketing materials. Today, however, we’re specifically discussing the font used in the Netflix logo.
Netflix is a popular streaming service that lets you watch movies, TV shows, documentaries, and original programming on your phone, tablet, computer, or TV. You pay a monthly subscription fee to access their library of content, which you can watch anytime, anywhere with an internet connection. They also create their own exclusive shows and movies called “Netflix Originals.”
The Netflix logo itself has a separate typographic history:
Original Logo Font (pre-2014): The original Netflix wordmark used Graphique (also known as Graphique W01 Regular), a sans-serif typeface originally designed by Hermann Eidenbenz in 1945.
Current Logo Treatment (2014-present): The 2014 logo refresh uses a custom-drawn wordmark, but the closest publicly available font match is Bebas Neue, a free sans-serif font by Ryoichi Tsunekawa. However, this is only an approximation; the actual logo is a proprietary design.
Netflix uses its exclusive Netflix Sans for branding and interface; the logo is a separate custom wordmark. Neither is publicly available. Bebas Neue is the best free alternative.
