Thrasher Font is a popular display font, first seen in 1981 on the logo of a skateboarding magazine called “Thrasher.” Thrasher is a US-based skateboarding magazine that was first published in 1980. The magazine had articles about music, skateboarding, interviews with industry people, and news about the business.

The font used on the logo is Banco Typeface, designed by French font designer Roger Excoffon in 1951 and published in 1952 by Fonderie Olive Foundry. As for Thrasher Font, fans named the font after the magazine. Since then, Banco has been more commonly known as Thrasher, and has also become popular.
